  1. Carnival Elation Captain and Crew Recognized with AFRAS Humanitarian Assistance Award

    Captain Gaetano Gigliotti and the crew of the cruise ship Carnival Elation have been recognized with the Cruise Line Humanitarian Assistance Award from the Association for Rescue at Sea (AFRAS), an organization whose mission is to provide worldwide support and assistance to volunteer maritime rescue services and recognize and honor extraordinary maritime rescues.   2. Carnival Cruise Line’s Sales and Trade Marketing Team Takes Home Four Gold and Silver Travel Weekly Magellan Awards

    Carnival Cruise Line’s Sales and Trade Marketing team received two gold and two silver 2018 Magellan Awards in Travel Weekly’s annual competition. All four awards were bestowed in the Cruise Marketing–Web Marketing/Advertising Category. Carnival’s Facebook page for travel agents received a gold award for its effectiveness as a trade communications platform. The page is run by Adolfo Perez, senior vice president of sales and trade relations, and currently has more than 37,000 followers and over 36,000 likes. The other gold Magellan was earned for the innovative “What’s Your Carnival IQ?” Facebook contest that tested travel agents’ knowledge about the Carnival brand and onboard product.   4. Carnival’s Sixth Annual Day of Play at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® Highlighted by Fun Games for Kids, Debut of Massive, 128-Foot-Long Carnival Airship

    Continuing its role as the Official Celebration Partner of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, Carnival Cruise Line held its Sixth Annual Day of Play for patients and their families at the Memphis, Tennessee, hospital. This year’s theme was “Carnival at the Carnival” with a variety of fun arcade games, face-painting, photo booth, branded giveaways and traditional food like corn dogs, funnel cakes and other delicious treats with entertainment provided by nearly 40 of the line’s cruise directors who were on hand for their annual conference held at the hospital.   5. Carnival Fascination Rescues Barbados Fishermen In Distress

      At approximately 10 pm Wednesday, Carnival Fascination responded to a distress signal from a small fishing boat that was 25 nautical miles from Barbados.  The boat had run out of fuel and was adrift. The two fisherman, from Barbados, ages 43 and 51, were rescued and taken aboard Carnival Fascination. They received medical assistance, a hot meal and accommodations. They also had the opportunity to call their families. “We are extremely proud of the team on Carnival Fascination for rescuing these fishermen in distress,” said Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy. “Performing such a procedure at night is extremely challenging and I applaud the team for their efforts in saving lives at sea.” The ship is in St. Lucia…
